Carpentry Finish in Framingham, MA
770 Water St, Framingham – The Brass Tap Restaurant
Being awarded an interior millwork contract for a restaurant comes with a huge amount of responsibility; the final aesthetic directly impacts the business identity and shapes the customer experience.
The scope of this project consisted of installing a natural stone tile feature wall for the bar, custom maple shelving, custom cabinets, a bar shelf, countertops, Pecky Cypress wood accents, and custom maple trim throughout.
Natural Stone Ledger Tile Feature Wall
This fabulous ledger stone tile demanded the expertise of our master craftsmen, as it serves as the main focal point of the space. Utilizing premium Versabond mortar to ensure a rock-solid bond between the wall and the heavy stone, our crew focused intensely on the finest details. This included executing precise, rounded cuts to seamlessly contour the Micromatic draft beer hardware and perfectly integrating the rustic maple shelving wrapped by our team. To finish, we thoroughly cleaned the stone and applied a specialized wax to enrich and bring out its deep, natural beauty.
Custom Cabinetry
This project required fully custom cabinetry. We utilized premium Garnica Maple Plywood to construct both the cabinet boxes and the doors. Divided between the “Bar” and the “Expo Area,” both sections were meticulously planned ahead with precise field measurements and off-site fabrication. The entire fabrication and installation process took just three weeks. Design choices like a rich walnut stain paired with hand-selected grain patterns for some of the doors brought immense authenticity and elegance to the cabinetry.
Premium Countertops
To complement such an elegant set of cabinets, the client chose the majestic Cambria Summerhill countertop, featuring classy, seamless end-to-end matching. The striking stone slab featured an off-white background beautifully contrasted by deep blue and soft grayish veins.
Pecky Cypress & Maple Finishes
The Pecky Cypress, sourced directly from North Carolina, was truly the icing on the cake for this design concept. The wood’s intentional, aged texture, enhanced by a clean ebony stain coat, brought a deep sense of elegance to the space. Our field-crafted maple shelving, paired with industrial pipe brackets, connected perfectly with both the natural stone tile and the Pecky Cypress walls. Finally, custom maple top rails and baseboards finished with a solid ebony stain completed this highly sophisticated package.
Final considerations
Upon completion of the project, our entire crew was invited to celebrate and enjoy the new space with an incredible round of beers and pizza. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Breton Avenir and The Brass Tap team for their trust and partnership!
